Griffons flyhalf Andre Hough has received an urgent SOS from Cats coach Frans Ludeke.
Hough, a flyhalf in the mould of Braam van Straaten, was eligible for Central Cheetahs selection but was passed over by Rassie Erasmus.
Injuries to Andre Pretorius, Tiaan Snyman and Nel Fourie have forced Ludeke’s hand however, and Hough has been summoned to Johannesburg.
The Namibian national participated in the cutting edge Portuguese league for a year before being tempted by the wonders of Welkom to return to South Africa.
He played the entire Currie Cup campaign last year at 10, impressing sporadically behind a perpetually defeated pack.
