Sharks dream big

Sharks dream big

The rest of the country may be writing them off, but the Sharks are backing themselves to turn things around in the Vodacom Super 14.

In the latest issue of Sharks magazine, predictions are made for the Sharks’ first three matches of the season.

The magazine predicts the Sharks will start off with a comfortable 34-17 victory at home against the Chiefs, before beating the Cheetahs 26-17 in Durbs. They then predict the Sharks to beat the champion Crusaders 27-26 in Christchurch.

“The odds are stacked pretty heavily against the Sharks, but that might just be the biggest factor counting in the Sharks favour,” says the magazine. “They really have nothing to lose in Christchurch and if they could manage to win their first two outings at home and subsequently enter the Crusaders fortress in a confident yet positive frame of mind, who knows what could happen …”

Not a good idea to make those predictions in their own mag. The other teams don’t need a dressing room talk now.

The season of surprises — when you least expect the SHARKS to perform — watch they will surprise. **** took over a beaten sie from PUTT & he has had a while to weave his magic + Campo has been busy.
Then the biggest surprise of all — the unknown factor, and teh SHARKs HAVE A FEW OF THESE IN THEIR SQUAD.

A loyal supporter for many years who faced shame in HAMILTON [ yes on holiday 04] watched how the CHIEFS wiped us out. But I believe in miracles & this young side might jsut surprise a few people.

Bigg by the time you have wiped the sleep from your eyes we will be on the victory trail.

ok guys … think back to 2005 … the Sharks will beat the Brumbies … never hahahahaha

although I do think beating the Crusaders at home is a huge prediction

people who write off the sharks do so at their peril. In my opinion SA teams will finnish the S14 in this order.

    Stormers
    Bulls
    Sharks
    Cheetas
    Cats.

In 2000 the sharks finished bottom of the super 12 log, in 2001 they were finalists.

    there is a precedant boys.

Last year the Muppits predicted the Springboks would win 70% of there games. Keo said that would never happen……..

    Guys, remember :
    1) **** Muir took Pirates from nowhere to Grand Challenge winners in his first year in charge
    2) **** then moved on to Tukkies and did the same with them, they came from no where to win the Carlton Cup
    3) **** took over the coaching reigns in the middle of last year after Kevin Putt was going nowhere.

**** WILL do wonders with the Sharks. If the Sharks will win there first 3 games who knows, but things will look up for the Sharks this season.

Sharks – Chiefs…just take a look at the new signings for the chiefs, they’re not gonna be a walk-over this season. Some big names in that backline…Kelleher, Tuitupou (from the Blues), Sivivatu, Mils Muliaina (also the blues)…Sharks, just be realistic and don’t count your chickens just yet!

    Heyyyy dooood…….
    Yeaaah maaaaan……
Sharks will winnn the first 3 games…..
    Yeaaaah mannnn…….This is gooooood Sh11t
    PASS THE DUTCHIE ****
    WAHAHAHA Stormers 153 Sharks 3
    Carry on sharky boys…….

  • 27.parisian: Reply to this comment

The start of the comp is crucial…so if the Sharks DON’T win both their first 2 games…they’re heading for a LONG 13 weeks…beating the Crusaders in NZ is impossible, so they need to get points on the board before then.

you know, as a sharks supporter i love being written off early in the season. this is great because if we get relegated, well it was expected. but if we dont, well then we can smile knowingly.

to me (and i am not gonna gloat or be happy about this) the cheetahs are in for a tough super 14 and if i were to put money on it, i would think that they are gonna be relegated. surely the bulls have shown us that winning the currie cup does not necessarily mean doing well in the super 12/14 (and i am not reffering to last year here).

    As per Munkiboi above:

    1. Bulls (5/14)
    2. Sharks (8/14)
    3. Stormers(10/14)
    4. Cheetahs(12/14)
    5. Cats (14/14)

Force to fight it out with the Cats for last place.

This is why the Sharks are the laughing stock of SA rugby’s franchises. Delusions of Grandeur will only get you KILLED. Just ask Tony Montana in the brilliant movie Scarface!

I thought that was Al Pacino.

  • 33.CouchRugga: Reply to this comment

Hold on a second.Alot of chirping in this forum, but aren’t you the same guys who said the Cheetahs couldn’t beat the Blue Bulls?

Sorry to say this gents, but from viewing your posts last year, and then seeing final results on a Saturday afternoon, you guys should talk less and learn more. Cause right now you guys don’t know shlt!

While the CC final was a bit of a surprise, everyone knew that the Cheetahs could play decent rugby – adn in a one off game, anything can happen, because rugby depends a lot on attitude on the day. Seriously, the inherent quality of Sharks rugby of late has been so ridiculously bad (never mind the scoreline) that I doubt **** could fix it that quickly.

Having said that, maybe **** can fix the attitudes (which were shocking under Putt) quite quickly, so a decent turnaroud is theoretically possible. Do they have enough raw talent – yes, a little young maybe, so they could come riht in a couple of years. Do they have enough polished talent WITH attitude to beat Crusaders at home? hahahahahaha! NO WAY!! be real!
    Stop hogging da spliff!
