Spedding stars again
1 Feb 2006
Two tries from Sharks flyhalf Scott Spedding propelled his side to a 24-14 victory over the Cats in the first match at Rustenburg.
Spedding, whose last-minute penalty consigned the Bulls to a 13-10 defeat in the first match at Sun City last Saturday, played Craven Week rugby for the Lions before moving to Durban to further his career.
The No 10 ripped through the Cats midfield either side of half-time, dotting down under the posts on both occassions.
Sharks winger Craig Burden then put the result beyond doubt a few moments later with an excellent try down the touchline.
A penalty from the boot of Griffons flyhalf Andre Hough and a last minute try by winger Wylie Human, took the Cats into double figures, but the final score flattered the Jo’burg franchise.
Scorers:
Sharks – Tries: Scott Spedding (2), Solly Tybilika, Craig Burden. Conversions: Spedding (2).
Cats – Tries: Wylie Human. Conversions: Andre Hough (2). Penalty: Hough.

Well done. Sharks have beaten both the Bulls and Lions B teams, so they have depth.
Saw young Spedding play Craven week a year or so ago, impressive player.

Well with Spedding, why are we worried about James being ready, this lad seems the biz. I heard a whisper & I am not sure how true it is, but Spedding cost the sharks r500000. — could this be true?
Let us see this monster in the S14 — and maybe JW what JW has been looking for is here in NATAL.
Have your say
