Richard Bands will start in the Blue Bulls’ Vodacom Cup opener against the Cheetahs on Friday.

Suparugby reports that Bands, who missed virtually the entire Currie Cup through injury, will make his comeback for a side that includes many of Heyneke Meyer’s extended Super 14 squad.

Dries Scholtz and Rudi Coetzee are due to start in midfield, with John Mametsa, Trompie Nontshinga and Danwell Demas forming a threatening back three.

Tim Dlulane wears jersey 6, alongside Derick Kuun and Hilton Lobberts in a youthful back row.

    lol they pick this bulls side for incase they loose to the cats so they have an excuse if they loose to the cats, because they might loose to the cats if still some of the boks were in it..thats why they dont incude habana too
