Frogs fry five
9 Feb 2006
France have dropped five players for their Six Nations Test against Ireland on Saturday.
Fullback Nicolas Brusque, centre Ludovic Valbon, flanker Remy Martin, prop Sylvain Marconnet and hooker Dimitri Szarzewski all pay the price for the side’s shock defeat to Scotland.
Veterans Olivier Magne and Raphael Ibanez come into the pack, along with loosehead prop Olivier Milloud.
David Marty is named at centre, while Aurelien Rougerie moves on to the wing.
To make room for Rougerie, Christophe Dominici moves to fullback in place of Brusque, who, along with Szarzewski, is dropped from the 22-man squad altogether.
France to play Ireland:
15 Christophe Dominici, 14 Aurelien Rougerie, 13 Florian Fritz, 12 David Marty, 11 Cedric Heymans, 10 Frederic Michalak, 9 Jean-Baptiste Elissalde, 8 Julien Bonnaire, 7 Olivier Magne, 6 Yannick Nyanga, 5 Fabien Pelous, 4 Jerome Thion, 3 Pieter de Villiers, 2 Raphael Ibanez, 1 Olivier Milloud

you know I was actually very surpirissed by the Scots on Sunday. I thought they played well agaisnt the frenchies. There was nothing fancy about what they did and i was impressed with how they held the ball. the opposition can be as sh*t hot as they want but without the ball they cant play and the Scots proved that. Perhaps our S.A sides can use that to thier advantage agaisnt the stronger teams. i dont know?
i just dont think the Scots will do much more after this game. That was thier season maker there.

Michalak is lucky to still be there after his shokcer. Why do some get more chances than others? Guess its a bit like back in good ol’ SA!

Parisian, the thing with Michalak is when he fires hes the best i believe, Look how he played against SA in SA (KAK) then at home he fires and they made us pay dearly.
I think France will still be very strong for the rest of this 6nations.

The Scots showed in November they were becoming competitive again. That idiot Australian took them away from their stregths completely.
Probably the worst international coach since destroyli.
I am gutted for the Italians – would have been awesome for them to have toppled the irish in Ireland. They deserved it thats for sure.
