Cheetahs 18 (10) Bulls 30 (17)
10 Feb 2006
Live commentary from the Vodacom Super 14 match in Bloemfontein.
Cheetahs coach Rassie Erasmus has made three late changes to the side to play the Bulls.
As per the speculation on Keo.co.za earlier in the week, Erasmus has dropped Meyer Bosman to the bench and will start with Willem de Waal at flyhalf. CJ van der Linde will also start, as will Trevor Leota as Erasmus looks to put the heat on the inexperienced Bulls front row. Pre-match conditions: Wet surface, a huge crowd dressed mostly in orange and the real prospect of a Cheetahs win.
SCORERS:
Cheetahs – Tries: Fredericks, Cooke. Conversion: De Waal. Penalties: De Waal (2).
Bulls – Tries: Ndungane, Roets, Olivier, Habana. Conversions: Hougaard (2). Penalties: Hougaard (2).

A perfect (although rather lucky) start for the Bulls – much better than last year’s start when they lost to the Cats (and then the Cats stopped winning). One away game down – five to go. All 7 other games will be at the Blue Fortress.
I also hope that this was the Cheetahs last loss and that they will start winning hence forth. The Bulls need them (and the other 3 teams) to knock the sh*t out of the Anzacs.

Poor Poor game.
Willem de Waal cost Cheetahs the game.
Rassiem must re-look at his team selections. This is the weakest Cheetahs backline I have seen in many years.

Agreed cfb…..
Bosman looked like he had a bit of impetus.
10 Feb 2006, 21:52 pm
Well done Bulls! The 2nd half not great but rather play poor rugby and win than the other way around. I realy hope the Cheetahs can regroup quickly and win at least the rest of their home games

Bulls deserve to win, but my only question is, is why didn’t De Waal take the kick to level the scores with 3 minutes to go. Was he injured or afraid to take it?!? Cooke looks like a promising player. Cheetahs forwrads look very good, I like their interplay with the backs, I hope the season improves for them at home before their ANZAC tour.
11 Feb 2006, 06:49 am
I was suprised they picked Hougaard, Steyn was a shoe in for my FR team
