Gaffie in, De Waal out

Gaffie in, De Waal out

Willem de Waal has been dropped from the Cheetahs match 22 to play the Sharks in Durban on Saturday. Meyer Bosman will wear the No 10 jersey.

Former Bok fullback Gaffie du Toit starts on the right wing, with Giscard Pieters wearing jersey 11.

“I believe Meyer is the right man for Saturday’s game,” coach Rassie Erasmus told keo.co.za. “Gaffie can move to flyhalf if Meyer is injured during the match, so there was no need to include Willem in the squad.”

Erasmus has also made changes to the front row with Os du Randt, Tiaan Liebenberg and CJ van der Linde packing down against the Sharks, and Wiaan du Preez and Ollie le Roux on the bench.

With Samoan Trevor Leota not available due to injury, Le Roux will also provide cover at hooker.

Cheetahs team to play Sharks:

15 Bevin Fortuin, 14 Gaffie du Toit, 13 Ronnie Cooke, 12 Barry Goodes, 11 Giscard Pieters, 10 Meyer Bosman, 9 Michael Claassens, 8 Ryno van der Merwe, 7 Juan Smith (c), 6 Kabamba Floors, 5 Barend Pieterse, 4 Corniel van Zyl, 3 CJ van der Linde, 2 Tiaan Liebenberg, 1 Os du Randt.
Subs: 16 Ollie le Roux, 17 Wiaan du Preez, 18 Frans Viljoen, 19 Gareth Krause, 20 Noel Oelschig, 21 Sinethemba Zweni, 22 Eddie Fredericks.

I wonder why Zweni is dropped. I was surprised when Erasmus took him off last Friday as he was playing well.

Only 2 players of colour. Ag, it should be expected. Unlike the Breezes who had 5 on Sat. Well, at least they not both on the wing like the Bulls…

I’m hoping the Sharks take 5 points here. We need to boost the SA teams that is already sitting good on the log.

Blouste, are you based in Pretoria – that might be the problem – they still use fish line in that part of the country.

WPW – Free State have always been the worst for transformation, I remember one currie cup game last season they only had 1 player of colour in the whole match 22 that being Floors…

Ta for feedback PA – all seems fine from where we are too…..???!!! Telkom knobbing us all !

Gaffie and Pieters… hardly the sort of wings that make you have sleepless nights if playing against them.

The Cheetahs are going to have a tough time if their injury toll continues to mount.

WPW / Bigg – try counting again. I see 3 in starting lineup and 2 on the bench. not that it should matter – Rassie is going to change the team before saturday. I’m araid to pick any cheetas in my FL team.

Munkiboi – I didn t comment on how many players of colour the cheetahs have in their starting line up… I said the cheetahs have the worst transformation record.

    Go Cheetahs!
Stupid dropping De Waal, but still, hopefully the beat the Sharks.
Having said that, the Sharks are mostly Cheetahs anyway:)

Thank heavens. Now we stand a chance at least. That is actually quite a potent backline. Keep an eye on Cooke this season.

and the two players of colour are from Spears territory … strange but true. Look into the squad and you’ll find another 2 from Spears country, Dlomo and van Heerden.

And FS always ***** that everyone steals their players – transformation my ***

Ig, there is definitely something wrong with the website. It is very slow the past 4 days. I’ve got ADSL and experience it only on keo.co.za.

The site was slow yesterday afternoon but has been ok this morning and last night.

I think the load balancing system on the hosted server is not configured correctly.
