World Cup winning coach Clive Woodward has ruled out a return to rugby, following the resignation of Mike Ruddock.
Ruddock quit on Wednesday leaving Wales in disarray midway through the defence of their title.
His assistant Scott Johnson has been handed the job through to the end of the current Six Nations but then Wales will reassess their options.
But Woodward, England’s World Cup-winning coach and last year’s Lions boss, says he isn’t interested in a move to Cardiff as he continues to settle into his new job with English soccer club Southampton.
“I can categorically confirm I won’t be taking the Wales job,” Woodward told British media. “I have a job at Southampton FC to do and I’m committed to the club.”
Woodward would have been at long odds anyway such is the depth of feeling against him in Wales, particularly for the way he ignored their talent on the ill-fated Lions tour where they were humbled by the All Blacks.
