Wendell Sailor won’t play against the Stormers in Saturday’s Vodcacom Super 14 match in Cape Town. The big Tahs winger failed a fitness test.
Sailor’s absence does rob the occasion of a character, but it won’t necessarily weaken the Tahs. Peter Hewat moves to wing and Sam Norton-Knight is in at fullback.
“He’s pretty disappointed,” said head coach Ewen McKenzie “Wendell woke up in good spirits and believed he was good to go but unfortunately the hamstring isn’t quite right. From a positive point of view Wendell will be fully fit for next week’s clash with the Bulls.”
