Marius Joubert came through an intensive training session on Monday and will be available for the Stormers’ Vodacom Super 14 clash with the Highlanders.
Speaking to keo.co.za, Stormers coach Kobus van der Merwe was audibly buoyed by the retun of Joubert to fitness.
“Marius came through a contact session yesterday, which was fantastic for us,” Van der Merwe said. “He ran full out and I was really impressed by his sharpness. He really showed how much he wants this.”
Joubert reveals in the March edition of SA Rugby Magazine just how difficult the past six months have been, and stated his determination to win back jersey 13 of both the Stormers and the Boks.
“He ran in one or two backline moves and slotted in perfectly, so he’ll definitely be considered for selection this weekend.
“He’s hungry, bloody hungry, and he wants to prove something.”
Joubert is likely to make a return via the replacements bench with a midfield of De Wet Barry and Jean de Villiers starting.
