Rustenburg to keep test

The All Blacks will play the Springboks in Rustenburg, as originally decided by the Presidents’ Council. And the investigation into former SA Rugby Union president Brian van Rooyen will also proceed.

At least, that is the view of SARU deputy CEO Mvuleli Ncula.

“The investigation will go ahead. After all, Brian van Rooyen must be given a chance to clear his name. That is his right,” Ncula said. “It is difficult to put a date to the new investigation, but what is important is that it will definitely go ahead,” said Ncula.

The test venue, a controversial decision, will remain. The All Blacks will play in Rustenburg and the Scots will play in Durban. Free State, as it stands, won’t get a test in 2006.

The Leopards have already guaranteed R8m to host the test against the All Blacks.

And the NZRU can, of course, reciprocate the gesture by scheduling the Boks to play down in Invercargill.

Seen a lot of comments by Ncula but nothing from the big man, thought his last words were he has first got to talk to ALL stakeholders before any discissions are made. Jumping the gun a bit…maybe!

Dammit! Just when my business trip to DBN coincided with what I thought was the ultimate – an AB-Boks test. Won’t be going to Rustenburg, not then, probably never.

I know its hardly a compromise, but if the Scots can keep their present form they should prove quite a handful for the Boks. It’ll be a good test to watch. Should pretty much fill King’s Park

Rustenburg is like another ‘away’ game for the ‘Boks.

Why do we do that? We need all the advantage we can get against them. Ellis Park, Loftus and Freestate Stadium are the stadiums to play the AB’s.

If we have to play a game in Rustenburg, then common sense dictates it should be Scotland.

    HKGK… ROFL…..

Sage…. Totally Agree. Rustenburg should host Scotland.
