No brotherly love here

Crusaders scrumhalf Kevin Senio will come up against his brother John when the champions take on the Blues in Christchurch on Saturday.

Regular Blues No 9 Steve Devine has been ruled out of the match with a viral infection, and sent home to recover.

“Steve was ruled out yesterday and the doctor sent him home with a viral infection,” explained Blues coach David Nucifora. “We’re still not quite sure what it is at the moment. He wasn’t feeling terribly well first day back and he wasn’t much better yesterday.

“He’s having a lot of tests done but he’s feeling very lethargic at the moment and we didn’t think he was going to be right for the game. In a game like this you need people who are going to be 100%.

“It was always going to be quite a close call with Steve and John Senio so we had no hesitation in bringing John into the starting team. He’s had some experience this year and I’m sure he’s up for the game this weekend against his brother.”

In the only other changes to the Blues match 22, loose forward Angus Macdonald, fullback/wing Brent Ward and halfback Junior Poluleuigaga come onto the bench.
