Gaffie du Toit will be named on the left wing for the Cheetahs’ Vodacom Super 14 encounter with the Stormers on Saturday, but will undergo a fitness test on the morning of the match.
Du Toit pulled a hamstring against the Hurricanes two weeks ago, and has been given as much time as possible to recover.
Should Du Toit fail the fitness test, WP tormentor Willem de Waal will come onto the bench, with Eddie Fredericks taking Du Toit’s place on the wing.
Erasmus has avoided the temptation to tamper with the starting XV that beat the Hurricanes, and is keen to build up some momentum ahead of the away leg of the Super 14.
The Cheetahs have lost two home games this season, to the Bulls and Highlanders, but beat the Sharks in Durban. Another away victory in Cape Town and the Cheetahs Super 14 campaign will be firmly back on track.
