Bands the peacemaker

Springbok prop Richard Bands was cleared of any foul play by a judiciary. His Bulls teammates Johan Wasserman and Frikkie Welsh were not as fortunate.

And neither were the three Griffons players involved in a free for all in the Vodacom Cup match at the weekend.

The Griffons players received between two and five week suspensions, Wasserman was suspended for two weeks and Welsh got three weeks.

Bands, the judiciary found, was not involved. He tried to stop the fight and did not add to the drama.

It is the second successive suspension for Wasserman, who was suspended after a fight in the Bulls Super 14 match against the Waratahs.

Bands has been cleared for immediate selection, be it for the Vodacom Cup or Super 14 squad.

When will bands play for the Bulls in S14 again?

the SA teams dont look so dangerous on attack at the moment as say the crusaders. we need to beat these okes where we can, in the forwards, using our brunt and bore.use bands thiart and all the other big boys to smash the crusaders into dust.

has he ever been match fit? i think a match fit bands is a bit of an urban legend?

Bandsy is just a pansy. Handbags at ten paces. A “match fit” Bands is about as hard to locate as a yeti.

As rare as a patriotic tackler? Certainly less common than a traitous tackler? As common as a Richie McCaw concussion?

Unfit Bands outran Queen Carlos and the AB backline…over mccaw and scored a try…

And, having had his 15 minutes of fame, he is now consigned to the occasional bout of handbaggery and rugby life down in the lifelessly despairing zone of the Vodacom Cup!

One almost feels sorry for the old fat man!

My comment bit of sarcastic joke.

    Bulls – Stormers 2005

Bands ran over Rautenbach like he wasn’t ever there and scored.

    Redcard,
    lmfao,
