Another Catastrophe beckons

John Robbie believes the Cats have no chance of causing a Vodacom Super 14 upset against the Highlanders on Saturday.

Speaking on Boots&All, Robbie commented on coach Frans Ludicrous’ team changes and dismissed the chance that the inclusion of Wayne Julies and others will have any effect.

“It’s a case of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, isn’t it?” Robbie quipped.

The Cats have only one victory, an error-soaked encounter with the Chiefs in Round 2, and a succession of drubbings have the team settled as the bottom South African side.

With CEO Andy Turner making the comment that his team regards the home and away legs as two separate competitions, presumably the Cats have already pencilled in Saturday’s fixture as a loss.

If they are playing in 2 separate competitions, who else is in their competition?

Maybe the Force, Reds and Stormers ;-)

My guess is the Cats won’t be walking away with two trophies.

    Keo,

being so close to rugby’s management structures in SA what is your opinion of Turner and Ferreira? As a GLRU supporter I get the impression they are uncreative, reactive individuals not willing to take any risks- and unable to be strong leaders. But I’s sitiing on the outside looking in. You are closer to the inside and can give us a more accurate assessment. I fear that the Lions (and Cats) are going no-where fast.

Now I hear that there might not be a team being relegated at the end of the s14, damn!!

    katsesnor (8),

might be wrong but i think Keo is “only close to the inside” with the stormers/WP and the feedback that get’s to him from the Cats are “so – so and secondhand”….

Maybe ths Cats are worried to “open up”…

I might be wrong but thats what i think.

The cats do not know the meaning of opening up.When Robbie played for transvaal they where just as kak so who is he to criticize?

he might be a reasonably good commentator, but what did they win when he played for Transvaal?

  • 16.Stawm: Reply to this comment

    John Robbie = TheTackler!

Whats up Stan, no ****-erotic comment? You sick?

  • 17.Katsesnor: Reply to this comment

Stan, the man is right irrespective of what Transvaal achieved or not. Bulls will do well to listen. We all know the Bulls need to do more with their backline. They have quality backline players but lack the gameplan (and confidence?) to play wider.

Antone in there right mind could have said that and seen it from a mile back. The cats are a bunch of individuals in a team game, playing as individuals, and not one of them I bet would know the next guys weakness and strngth, because if they did, they would at least be losing by a respectable margin.

Na Robbie could never ever be the tackles.

    Gotta be him.

STAN in the early-mid 80′s John Robbie had some GREAT SEASONS for Transvaal and was rated the no. 1 scrummie in SA. Would have WALKED into a Bok team but for a couple of years the Boks had NO-ONE TO PLAY WITH……

  • 22.Stan: Reply to this comment

    Robbie is stating the obvious.
In the early, mid 80′s we had Divan, Garth wright, Johan Roux, Joost, Henti Maartens etc.

    Stan

Joost first played for the Boks in ’93 and Roux in ’94. You’re ONLY 10 years out!!! Well done!!!

Garth’s first test was in ’86. In between Divan and Garth Robbie was the MAN.
