Really loved Marius’s honesty. I especially enjoy reading about what coaches do personally with their players on the individual front, like when Jake spoke to Jaco, de Wet and Marius. Also loved all he had to say about what went wrong with him personally.

Chris writes pretty intuitive reports.

Good luck to Joubert, but he does need to show hunger, he had a poor run of form. IMO, he’s better suited to wing; Fourie is a more modern outside center that runs better lines, has better vision and can offload in the tackle, but its good we have so much depth.

Jaque is twice the size. Jaque is more physical but just as fast and skilled as Brent. Jaque also defends well. Jaque has got true abilities in any position from 10 to 15 with very few weaknesses. In my books the two cannot be compared. No coach will leave a fit JF out of his squad.

Jaque Fourie can play – and is willing to play -anywhere in the backline – as opposed to Joubert who openly state that he is a no 13. That will always place Jaque in a better position for Bok selection. Even if Joubert were to regain the no 13 spot Jaque would play 11, 14, or 15. Better to be flexible.
