Quins celebrate double success
2 Apr 2006
Harlequins celebrated the signing of South African-born midfield internationals Stuart Abbott and Hal Luscombe by securing promotion back to the Premiership.
Quins, relegated last year, have dominated the first division and are 17 points clear. No one can overtake them.
On Saturday they smashed Sedgley Park 65-8 at the Stoop while second placed Bedford lost 26-23 at Exeter.
Abbott and Luscombe both attended Bishops in Cape Town and since leaving South Africa Abbott has played for England and Luscombe for Wales.
All Black Andrew Mehrtens has been one of the stars of Harlequins, along with former Bok captain Andre Vos. The latter retires at the end of the season.

Quins could be returning to former glory, just like the Bath rugby team, both team looking good for the future.
