Cats lock Jannes Labuschagne could be ruled out for the rest of the Super 14 after dislocating his right shoulder against the Reds.
The giant lock was making a comeback against the Reds from a calf strain he picked up against the Stormers in week one, but lasted only about 15 mins after coming on in the 50th minute as a replacement.
“I went for the tackle and the guy stepped outside me and I had to stretch. I felt it go immediately,” a disappointed Labuschagne told Keo.co.za. “I guess I will find out on Monday what the full diagnosis is and we will take it from there, but it’s not looking good.”
It is likely the former Springbok will be out for between three and six weeks which means he is probably only going to return for the Lions in the Currie Cup. On the plus side, other injured locks Kleinjan Tromp and Trevor Hall could be ready for action against the Sharks after recovering from neck and knee injuries respectively.
