Dan Carter says the Crusaders won’t underestimate the Cheetahs when the teams meet in the Vodacom Super 14 on Saturday.
While the Crusaders have racked up eight consecutive victories this season, the Cheetahs are coming off the back of a 50-pointer against the Brumbies.
However, Carter says the champions are making a big effort to take the game seriously.
“We’re pretty pleased where we are at the moment but it would be easy to slip back and get comfortable,” he told XtraMSN Rugby. “We’ll be working extremely hard this week to get that intensity up.”
Carter said the Cheetahs had already made an impact on the Super 14 with four good wins.
“They’ve shown the last couple of games against some quality opposition exactly what they can do. They’ve been in those games for a good 50-60 minutes, and they are a dangerous side. We’ll have to be playing pretty decent at the weekend if we want to continue the results we’ve been getting.”
The Cheetahs and Crusaders have met once before in Super Rugby, when the Kiwis won 16-11 in Bloemfontein.
