Cape’s captaincy curse

Western Province and the Stormers have appointed an incredible 10 captains since the departure of Corne Krige in 2004.

Intrepid Cape Argus rugby writer Dale Granger has done his research over the last couple of days and uncovered some shocking statistics.

In the space of two and a half years, the Cape clan have struggled to find a captain to replace Krige.

WP/STORMERS CAPTAINS (2004-06):

2004
Corné Krige (11 games)
Selborne Boome (3 games)
Pieter Rossouw (1 game)
Neil de Kock (7 games)
Adri Badenhorst (2 games)
De Wet Barry (1 game)

2005
