Brown baits Bulls

Tony Brown believes the Sharks are the best South African side in the Vodacom Super 14 this year.
“The Sharks have always been the best SA team, and it is no different this year,” Brown told the Sharks website. “We are playing the best style of rugby, and probably have the best players as well. We still have to play a few other South African sides, and those will be tough games, but hopefully we can prove we are the best side in South Africa.â€
While the Sharks match against the Bulls at Loftus on 29 April will probably decide the SA Super 14 “champion”, Brown is fully focused on the Blues clash in Durban on Saturday.
“The Blues are a funny side,†he said. “They have a team full of superstars; some days everything goes their way and they can score 50 points; other days nothing goes their way and they can get beaten by the weaker teams, so you never know what to expect with them. This weekend will be tough and hopefully we can do the job. It’s always good to run out in front of a big crowd, so hopefully the Durban people get behind us.â€
The New Zealander said it was great to be heading into the business end of the Super 14 with a chance of reaching the semi-finals.
“You don’t want to head into the second half of the campaign knowing that you can’t make the semis,†he says. “It’s obviously a big game this weekend and I think whichever side wins this game, will probably go to fifth on the log, and probably be the team that will push the Brumbies.â€
