Biarritz finally qualified for the final of the European Cup when they beat Bath 18-9 on Saturday.
After two years of semi-final disappointment in this competition, the French club out-kicked a Bath side that has struggled in the English Premiership.
Scrumhalf Dimitri Yachvili slotted five penalties from five, centre Damien Traille put over a drop-goal and Bath flyhalf Chris Malone replied with three penalties from three.
The Frenchmen led 9-3 at half-time and quickly extended their advantage when Yachvili kicked a penalty after Malone illegally blocked Traille. Moments later the centre slotted a drop from 50m out.
The final blow came two minutes from time as Bath collapsed a maul close to their own line and Yachvili sealed the victory.
Biarritz will now play either Munster or Leinster in the Millennium Stadium final next month. The two Irish clubs meet in the second semi-final on Sunday.
