Pretorius not a Dragon

Pretorius not a Dragon

The rumour that Cats and Springbok flyhalf Andre Pretorius has signed a deal with Newport Gwent Dragons is not true, according to Cats CEO Andy Turner.

Apparently Pretorius was supposed to have signed with the Welsh club, but Turner emphatically denied those rumours just hours before the Cats were due to play the Western Force in a bottom of the table Vodacom Super 14 match at Ellis Park on Friday evening.

“That is not true,” he confirmed to keo.co.za. “Andre has a three year contract with the Lions.” It was all Turner was prepared to say on the matter as he was in the middle of an important meeting.

Pretorius was unavailable for comment.

Damn, just when I thought the AP had a bit of a future too.

So Turnip’s handing out guarantees is he?

Gauranteeing himself and Frankly Ludicrous job protection?

I think they should let AP go, after all they’ve let all their other stars go!

Holy Andrew, does Jorrie Muller qualify for a Gwent Dragon contract or just a pay as you go?

Also rumours going around that Gerhard Vosloo has signed for a French club.

As far as I know Vosloo has a contract with the Lions ’till the end of next year.

This is coming from a French sport website

just in Luke Watson, fed up with being overlooked by Jake White, has signed for the Western Force. John Mitchell an avid admirer of his skills reckons he’s worth the apparently quite large sum of money paid for him….Who would have thought….

what happened to all the “putting up your hand” marketing bullshit we were fed from the Ctas camp a few weeks ago? Its should be more like Pulling out your finger!

If Turner denies it then it is probably true. He always turners the facts around. And it will be good for AP to go. He’s wasting away his career at the Cats/Lions. He will still be eligible for the Boks. No reason for this rumour not to be true. Three year contract? Since when did that stop the GLRU from letting good players go? I have a good feeling about Nel Fourie returning from injury anyway. Time for him to emerge from the shadows.

    Bokbafana,
    Whats that about Luke Watson?
Has he really signed up with the Force???

If thats true we will never have good rugby cause the boys just start peaking and then they bugger off.

yanking your chain – but wouldn’t be a bad option for him, get away from Saffa and just play his way in…. one thing about Watson tho is his loyalty, he’d be the last to leave I reckon!!

Mitchell does admire him apparently tho’ so never say never….

Stormers to pull off the upset of the tournament saturday….

He might not be a dragon but Pretorius sure is a choker. This from our springbok flyhalve . . . I hope Jake White saw that. If you can`t nail a conversion kick from the sideline to win an almost meaningless super 14 match in front of just about an empty stadium . . . how can south africa trust you to convert that same kick in a pressure situation for the bokke in front of 40 000 one eyed aussies for example? Just a thought . . .
