Stormers flank Luke Watson will get his chance to show Springbok coach Jake White his true class when he lines up for the World XV against the Springboks next month.
“I have just been informed (about being included in the World XV squad). I have to be in London three days after next Saturday’s game against the Bulls,” Watson told the Cape Times.
The Cape Times also confirmed that Watson has been asked to play for the Barbarians and could feature in the match at Twickenham against England at the end of this month.
In the match between the World XV and the Boks, Watson will be eager to prove he is capable of a Bok place and could be directly opposed to Stormers team-mate Schalk Burger. “I’ve thought about it, but I’ve never really been a person who personalises things,” he said.
The World XV also play Saracens on May 21 and England on May 28.
