The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed its full support for the Pacific Islanders tour to Europe in November.
FRU chief executive Timoci Tavanavanua reiterated that Fiji will release its best players for the tour, which includes Tests against Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
“I can confirm that Fiji’s best players will be vying for places in the Pacific Islanders team. Our boys played some superb rugby two years ago in Australia and New Zealand, so we look forward to repeating that on-field success in the North,†Tavanavanua said.
“The FRU is happy that the financial arrangements for the tour are in place we can now work with Samoa and Tonga to prepare a first-class rugby team ready to challenge the top tier nations.â€
The Islanders last played as a team in 2004, losing 38-24 to the Boks, 41-16 to the All Blacks and 29-14 to the Wallabies.
