– this happens more than you think. At the company I work for, junior people not only has input into appointment of managers, they get to take part in the interviewing process. For a team (whether it’s sport ot business) it’s important for to have a good fit both ways.

These days in SA rugby the players are in charge and the coach too insecure to stand up to the “senior” players (all still “snotneuse”). FP will not stand for this. The “senior” players – and White himself I believe – prefer softies around them – and Pienaar is the last man they would like to hang around their comfy set-up.
