I don't know who Preston is, did they produce many english rugby internationals?

A second team that would be difficult. It would have to be NZ for their sheer brilliance in all aspects of the game. A massive rugby legacy, shared passions and decent blokes to boot, unfortunately it seems there flankers are becoming a bit flakey. Very distrubing that one of them was brought into line with a handbag.

As for the RWC, i think everyone in the know reckons SA will lift it. In fairness, we probably deserved it in '99 as well as '87 after beating the Cavaliers in 86. Strauli in 2003 does'nt count it was a very dark period that we would like to forget.

No no no. Consider my love of the boks as the footballing equivalent of supportng Preston NE. Giants from a bygone amatuer era. Everyone has a second team - for some its Fiji I have SA friends who all have a love of Wales heaven forbid; my fancy is the Boks.

The RWC07 draw has been extremely kind to the English. With a great chance of making the final (Wales 1/4s, France semis) and friend there its a flip of the coin.

Fancy that the 1st team to ever retain the title?

hmmm StM, we obviously need more time to digest those profound pearls of light.

But lets be sensible, it is time for you to support SA as your no.1 team. England have become a huge embaressment, not only have they reverted back to their losing ways, but worst of all they have become quarelsome and biligerent in defeat. Traditional values seem to be lost.

Does Jake have a quota for South Africans, that makes him exclude "foreigners" like Cobus Visagie and Jake Boer?

Stephen Nell in the Cape Times says that former Springbok wing Kobus Burger is disappointed that Bulls flyer Akona Ndungane will not line up for the Springboks against the Wold XV at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.

"My personal opinion is that Bryan Habana and Akona Ndungane should be the Springbok wings," said Burger, who played in both South Africa's Tests against a world side in 1989.

"I don't like the tendency to play centres on the wing. These days fullbacks are also used there from time to time. I think wing is a specialist position. If the World XV are smart they will kick at the wings," added the former Western Province star.

Habana, of course, is injured, but the national selectors had no reason to overlook Ndungane for the Bok training camp in Bloemfontein.

"Akona will be equal to the task (if called upon). He's safe under the high ball, finishes when he gets opportunities and has a good all-round game. We have to transform and no other wing stands out above him, so let's give him a chance. If you perform in the Super 14 you should be able to cut it at international level," said Burger.

He added that Ndungane would even be a better option for the Boks than Breyton Paulse once coach Jake White settles on his strongest available side.

"Breyton is too small now for the way the game has evolved. Ndungane is an all-round wing."

Burger would, however, consider playing Habana on the right wing and Ndungane on the left.

"Habana should switch because he cannot kick with his left foot, which is a prerequisite for a left wing.

"I'm talking about chipping and grubber kicks. Doc Craven always said that a kick is a pass with your foot. There should be a 90 percent chance of getting the ball back," he said.

Comment: Habana as left-wing, unable to kick with his left foot, Paulse as right-wing, unable to kick with his right foot. Logic and common sense would call for them to be switched, but watch them trot onto the field in defiance of such logic!
