England’s new defensive coach Mike Ford says they have nothing to fear from George Gregan.
Ford said the Wallaby scrumhalf, who has come under severe criticism over the last year, wouldn’t take the ball forward against England on Sunday.
“He’s an east-to-west player rather than a north-to-south player,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald. “He goes across the pitch and doesn’t cause you many problems.”
However, Ford didn’t rule out the rest of the Wallaby backs making inroads, saying his team would take some time to adjust to his new defensive structure.
“We’re playing one of the [world's] best back lines and we’ve only won here [Sydney] twice,” he said. “[But] you can expect us to be a lot more aggressive in defence.”
