The Baby Boks produced an outstanding defensive effort to beat France 14-10 in the U21 World Championship on Saturday.
The South Africans spent the final 15 minutes of the match desperately defending their tryline against a barage of French attacks. The last movement of the game lasted a full three minutes as twice France took a quick penalty tap before finally knocking on.
The Baby Boks were disrupted in the second half when Sharks flank Keegan Daniels (56th minute) and fullback JP Pietersen (71st) were yellow carded, but the French could still not crack the 14-man Bok defence.
It was Pietersen who scored the Baby Boks only try, with flyhalf Isma-eel Dollie kicking three penalty goals.
