The Blue Bulls were the pick of the teams on day two of the U18 Craven Week being played at the University of Johannesburg on Tuesday.
In the main match of the day, the Bulls dominated the second half to record an emphatic 41-10 win over Eastern Province – last years beaten “finalists†– running in six tries to one.
There were also victories for Namibia, the Falcons, Border and the Leopards.
After leading just 13-3 at the break, the Bulls stepped up a gear in the second half. It was virtually one-way traffic for the boys from Pretoria as they ran in three unanswered tries in the space of 20 minutes.
They came via scrumhalf Danie Faasen, prop Corne Fourie and flanker Marnus Schoeman and were all converted by centre Stefan Watermeyer to stretch the lead to 34-3.
EP replied with a converted try by No 8 Daniel Muller, but the Bulls struck again with a try and conversion by Watermeyer to have the final say.
The Craven Week continues tomorrow.
