Catfish – yeah i agree, in the short term, we are screwed, but I was hoping that maybe if we got a few of those players involved now, that we might stand a chance of winning of couple of homes games of the 3N.

It’s so hard to find any positives after the wkend, espcially if you consider who we have to play this wkend. I don’t think we will be beaten by as bigger scoreline, partly because the AB’s could become slightly complacint & partly because I don’t think it is possible to play any worse than we did this last wkend. However, the performances of players like Percy, Habana & Smit cannot be blamed on Jake. Those players have being excellent for us, & would still be in the Bok squad even if Jake was’nt the coach.

As for the rest, well everyone (critics, coaches, supporters etc) have being seeing this train wreck coming for sometime. When a coach consistantly picks weak players like Jaco, Januarie etc in key positions, then eventually a team will be found out!

John Smit het my baie teleurgestel…..ons kaptein verdien nie om ‘n kaptein genoem te word nie.

  • 53.Catfish: Reply to this comment

Pete, agree. Dont think we’ll loose by that margin again in the cry-nations.

There were two type of players on the park yesterday. Those who we know r better than what we saw and then those who dont belong there – out of their depth.

    Staal

Dis jammer dat ‘n kaptein soos JS Francois se rekord verbeter het as aantal kere kaptein. Hulle kan nie in dieselfde asem genoem word nie.

  • 55.Pete77: Reply to this comment

Catfish, agreed – problem is I don’t think Jake knows how to tell the difference between the two types. Everyone else in South Africa does!

far 2 harsh on Os, if you actually look at the game, Os made a HUGE amount of tackles and the scrums werent bad either. too lenient on JAco, he deserved a 1-, Olivier did nuthing right, he was a 2

What’s your defintion of worldclass? The whole team’s performance was woeful, with the other Fourie (Du Preez) the only exception who came on as a late replacement.

  • 58.umbhoxoswede: Reply to this comment

Fourie du Preez saved two tries by holding up the ball. Then there was a third held up, so 15 points plus the possible conversions, we could have been shagged by another 21 points. Imagine that we could have been done by 70 points.

no, ndungane, matfield and smith all had decent games , at least 5s

Habana needs to learn to go for the tackle rather than shooting up for the intercept every time. he was our worst player (after Jaco of course)

Bring in Ruan, butch, Watson, Russell and Visagie

  • 60.ricane: Reply to this comment

Matfeild, smith and Januarie were responsible for over 1/3 the teams tackles, so don’t be too hard on Matfeild and januarie

I’ll be keeping a closer eye on juan smith, he was probably the best of a bad lot in my opinion

Jaco was responsible for 1/3 of the teams possesion lost

The AB’s will not be taking anything for granted and I’m still hoping for a competitive entertaining game this weekend. If Oz can bounce back as they did so may the Boks.

    Percy: 3/10 Had a Percy,ha ha

Ndungani: 5/10 Made a couple good tackles in a woeful Bok side.

    JF: 7/10

WO: 4/10 Some good tackles but was invisible

    Habana: 3/10

    Jaco: 1/10 Did nothing right

Ricky: 3/10 His pass needs work, again.

    Spies: 2/10 Invisible

    Smith: 3/10 Worst game ever

    Joe: 3/10 Is an 8,not a fetcher.

    Vic: 4/10

    Danie 3/10 Some shocking spills

CJ/Os/Eddie:4/10 Our front row was ok.Smit gets 0/10 for leading such a bunch of morons.

FDP 7/10 Was brilliant when he came on and saved 3 tries.

  • 62.Pete77: Reply to this comment

Totall agree sean, but will not happen on the away leg, Russell might get a look in for the bench, but the wings were’nt hte problem. Ok habana had a shocker, but White will never drop his true pace.

Ruan & maybe James will have a chance of making the team for the home fixtures, while Watson & Visagie will never get picked while White’s in charge. I

On another note, does anyone know what the AB’s heaviest defeat is?

  • 63.Viper6: Reply to this comment

Erm I didn’t see Jaque Fourie do anything (except from drinking a shitload of Jager Bomb with us after the game). Perhaps you mean Fourie Du Preez, who actually held up three different players over the line and looked good when he came on. If it wasn’t for him the score would have been 70-0.

You give Pierre Spies a 2??

With a full-back like him, who needs an 8th man? I’d like to hear all those Bulls clowns justify his pathetic effort in our national colors.

He did nothing at Currie Cup, nothing at Super 14, but he did kick fairly ok for the Boks.

    ***.

I can’t see any reason why Jaque Fourie is getting all this praise. He was just as bad as the rest. It must be a *** thing? Life-size poster against the bedroom wall, etc. etc.

    (Just kidding)

If FDP had started the score would have been 100. he is useless. At least ricky tackled, passed and tried to get things going. As for spies- what a load of kak dished up. now where are all those poepholes who alweays have a go at players of colour?what did your whities do on saturday? What about poor old solly laughing his arse off at the quota called spies. the government should take over rugby now so that we don’t have a quotas like spies and jaco (who are only there to satify the broederbond) ever wearing a bok jersey again.

Keo, jy het ‘n ruk gelede gese Jaco is jou keuse as nr 10? So dink jy nog steeds so?

Januaries gangsta style of rugby is going to cost us dear. Not once did he get the better of Gregan. The only thing he seemed interested in doing was picking a fight.

    Ditto CJ.

FDp was solid, steady and calm.Deserves a start for the AB game.

    Ricane,

If theres one thing Oz is good at its boucing back.Never write ‘em off. They are smart players.

As for the Boks,we’re in for a looong tournament I ‘m afraid.

There were only 5 of the Bulls in starting 15 of whom Ndungane – 1 test and actually he did better then 2 did a lot of cleaning at the back, Spies – 1 test and behind poor pack, Habana – out of form since s14, Oliver 3 tests of witch 1 played out of his position and with different partner in each test. Russof – left field with the injury shortly, Matfield – well lately he wants to prove that he is teh best center in the boks setup.
What about all touse other players?
os – well honnis made him and CJ out of the game by penilising for going forward, haven’t made any good outside scrums.
    Smith – was he playing?
Joe – when will JW understand Joe is his best 8man, not openside.
Juan – has been injured through whole s14 and have not regained form.
January – out of form sinse S14 and made sure Jaco had to get every pass at his shue laces.
Jaco – when they will realise he is not a flyhalf he is fullback, he needs space to make a decision.
Furie – have no ball to show his talents.
Montgomerie – well he was there for his kicking. On sat they didn’t get any penalties for him to justify his inclusion. In fact he is nowhere under high ball and he is no where in attack. Do we really need a fullback that offers nothing more exept for place kicking.

    keo,

how about having the post match rating after every match?

  • 74.RedCard: Reply to this comment

The really sad part was seeing the buggers during the Anthem, you could see in their eyes, they weren’t there.

There is nothing wrong with JW as a coach, but he has F-up the whole team with his ‘tradeunionism’ approach to his contract negotiations.

Jake dont hold our pride in Bok rugby at ransom. It puts you in the same class as Strooilie.

  • 75.bokfan1: Reply to this comment

Ndungane was MUCH better than a 2 and Habana also deserves a better score – he actually did some tackling (eg. on Larkham). Spies also deserves more – as a rookie he played well and often fielded kicks etc. Jacque – move to Cheetahs (to still be close to Joburg) or Western Province (to be in the best team, and to play with Jean all the time and become a lethal pair).
Still love the Boks, even though this f#cking hurt

  • 76.DieselX: Reply to this comment

The only problem I think that is in the Springboks team is that the players don’t know each other “as a team”, that is why they all want to play on their own two feet and think they are going to score. I’m sorry guy there is no I in the word team. While Jaque Fourie played good rugby as usual, just take a look at the game again and see how many times the ball went through boks backline in compare with the wallabies backline then you will see what I meen.
