Battered Smit eyes record

While John Smit is the Springbok most in need of a rest, he’s about to break Gary Teichmann’s record for consecutive Bok Tests.

Smit is two behind Teichmann’s record of 39 consecutive Test matches. He will also play in his 57th match as hooker in the Springbok jersey (all matches) at Loftus. James Dalton has played in 58.
