Conrad Jantjes will play for the Stormers and Western Province next season.
The Lions wing/fullback had several attractive offers, including one from French club Perpignan that would have seen him to play in the European Cup, but he eventually decided to move to Cape Town, where his long-term girlfriend currently lives.
Jantjes met with Lions CEO Andy Turner two weeks before he began negotiations with WP, and told him he wouldn’t be re-signing with the Jo’burg union.
The former Bok believes he needs a new challenge, and that Western Province will provide him with that.
Jantjes hasn’t played in the Currie Cup this season because of an Achilles injury that troubled him during the Super 14, but expects to make his comeback in early September.
