Boks back for Sharks

Springbok castaways Solly Tyibilika and JP Pietersen will be included in the Sharks squad for their match against the Pumas in Witbank on Friday.

The duo, along with injured fullback Percy Montgomery, were excluded from Jake White’s 22-man squad to play the All Blacks in Rustenburg.

Sharks coach Dick Muir confirmed that Montgomery would not be included in the squad and suggested that Tyibilika would start on the reserves bench until he “got used to the system we are playing.”

Muir also said he intends to rest the impressive Jacques Botes, and he will be replaced by Jaco Gouws, who has had limited game time this season.

Lock Steven Sykes will miss the trip to Witbank through injury, as will prop Danie Saayman. Their places will be filled by former SA Under 19 captain Alistair Hargreaves and Robbie Harris respectively.

In the final change to the pack, Wouter Moore will replace AJ Venter, who will be capped for the 27th time for the Springboks on Saturday.

The backline is likely to remain unchanged from the one that played against Vodacom Western Province, with 19-year-old Francois Steyn retaining his place at flyhalf after an impressive performance against the Cape-based side.
