KEY MOMENTS:

80min: McCaw knocks on at the lineout, and the Boks will have the put in to the last scrum of the game. The scrum resets a few times as the siren goes, but White will make sure the scrum is completed. Wanneburg takes the ball from the back of the scrum, and drives it up. The referee awards the scrum for the attackers going forward, and then blows the final whistle.

79min: The Boks are awarded a penalty for So’oialo coming in from the side of the maul, and Pretorius has a chance to put his team in the lead and possibly win the game. It’s a great kick under pressure and the Boks have a slight one point advantage (4/5). 21-20 SPRINGBOKS

74min: Carter tackles De Villiers who tries to pop it up to Pretorius who in turn drops the pass. Carter gets to his feet and regathers the ball. The All Blacks lose it down field however, and the Boks win the penalty for New Zealand players diving in on the man. Pretorius sets up the lineout deep in All Black territory.

70min: Pretorius puts in another beauty of a kick that rolls out five metres from the New Zealand line. Fearing another lineout shambles, the All Blacks take it quickly and clear it up as far as Pretorius. The Bok flyhalf lines up the drop, but hits it badly once again.

65min: Carter spots the Bok defence advancing and puts a grubber through for Rokocoko to chase. The big winger gets to the ball just in time and the TMO confirms the try. The Carter conversion takes the visitors into the lead for the first time in the half (4/5). 18-20 ALL BLACKS

63min: A threatening attack by the visitors is thwarted by Pienaar, who wraps up replacement scrumhalf Byron Kelleher and wins the turnover. The Boks kick it out on halfway.

60min: Ruan Pienaar has made an immediate impact since coming on, and some enterprising play leads the Boks into the All Black 22. But the Boks are penalised for holding on again, with McCaw the hero for New Zealand at the breakdown.

56min: Pretorius finds some space with a well-weighted kick into the All Black 22. Matfield steals the throw in once again, and the Boks start to grow confident through a number of phases. A quick pass from Pretorius finds Wanneburg who falls over in the corner for the five-pointer. A difficult conversion attempt from the touchline is missed by Pretorius, but the deadlock is broken nevertheless (3/4). 18-13 SPRINGBOKS

51min: Collins frees up Carter who ghosts through the defence. The Springbok chasers haul him in, and Ndungane intercepts a pass in the subsequent phase. Rokocoko chases him down on the halfway line, and the ball comes back to De Villiers who finds relief in the form of touch.

50min: Chris Jack intercepts Pretorius’ pass and makes 40m before offloading to Rokocoko, who unfortunatley for New Zealand can’t find any support.

48min: The Boks waste good ball through Pretorius, who goes for the drop goal. He hits it terribly and it wobbles to the left of the uprights.

42min: SA win a penalty for offsides at the first lineout of the half. The Boks take it through some phases, but it all comes to nought as the All Black defence is well organised.

39min: The All Blacks win a penalty for AJ Venter going off his feet. Carter lines up an easy kick to bring the scores level. The kick is good and the teams go into the half on equal terms (3/4). 13-13 LEVEL

37min: Collins goes through the midfield untouched, and is pulled down just short of the tryline. Hore dives over the line, but the referee asks the TMO if there was any obstruction in the scoring of the try. So’oialo is penalised for taking De Villiers out of play, and Pretorius kicks for safety again.

36min: Muller pulls down the All Black maul, and Carter is instructed to kick the ball into the corner. Matfield does superbly to steal the ball in the lineout, but Carter’s tackle forces Du Preez back over his own goalline. The All Blacks try and bash it over the line, but some great Bok defence turns it over.

33min: A great attacking platform for the Boks is wasted by some poor clearing out at the ruck, and the All Blacks are allowed to win the penalty through McCaw. Carter sends them all the way back to their own 22.

29min: New Zealand maul it well from the lineout and look in ominous form, but a slight miscommunication results in an accidental offside call by White. The All Black scrum concede a free kick and Pretorius relieves the pressure with an excellent clearance.

26min: The All Blacks are finding it far too easy to break the Bok line, and eventually SA need to infringe again to stop the momentum. Carter can’t level the scores and chucks the tee away in disgust (2/3).

23min. Bryan Habana reads the All Black backline movements plucking the ball away from the attack, and scoring at the other end of the field. Pretorius puts the home team further ahead (3/3). 13-10 SPRINGBOKS

20min: The All Blacks build down the left hand touchline, and Jack receives the ball again in the midfield. He offloads to Collins who pops the final pass to Carter who scores under the poles. Carter makes no mistake in adding the extra two (2/2). 6-10 ALL BLACKS

15min: The Boks build beautifully but eventually concede possession in the All Black 22 due to some impressive counter-rucking by the visitors. Williams is called out again for pulling the man down at the lineout, and that will be his final warning before he goes to the bin. Pretorius lines up the kick which is a bit further from the posts than the first. It’s a good strike again, SA go into the lead (2/2). 6-3 SPRINGBOKS

9min: Aaron Mauger breaks in the midfield and is eventually tackled. The Boks go offside at the ruck and Carter punishes them by kicking the goal (1/1). 3-3 LEVEL

7min: The Boks maul it up from the lineout and So’oialo is called for coming in from the side. Pretorius has the first opportunity to register points, and hits it with a slight fade to get the homeside on the scoreboard (1/1). 3-0 SPRINGBOKS

5min: Cowan puts in a good grubber down the right hand touchline and Fourie just watches it roll out on the Springbok 22. Johann Muller and Tony Woodcock get a talking to by referee Chris White for fisticuffs. The All Blacks are penalised for pulling down Matfield in the subsequent lineout, and Pretorius clears.

2min:A huge tackle on Doug Howlett by Pedrie Wanneburg forces a knock on. The first scrum for SA is a solid one. Ndungane is penalised for holding on and Dan Carter hacks the ball down field. It dribbles over the try line and Wanneburg dots it down safely.

Kickoff: Conditions are perfect for this afternoon game, and the gentle breeze shouldn’t be a factor. The All Blacks perform the Kapo o Pango haka while the Springboks watch from the other side of the halfway line.
