Griquas beat the Valke 36-27 on Saturday to keep their slim Absa Currie Cup semi-final hopes alive.
The home side dominated the first half and led 26-12 at the break, but the Valke struck twice after the interval to take a 27-26 lead.
However, Griquas finished strongly, with flyhalf Conrad Barnard kicking a penalty and captain Gareth Krause going over just before full-time to seal the win.
The Valke outscored Griquas by four tries to three, but Barnard kept his side ahead for most of the match with his haul of 21 points which was made up of three conversions and five penalties.
