Thanks to Vodacom and the Reach for a Dream Foundation, 14-year-old Juan Prinsloo will be given the chance to meet the South African team on Friday.
Prinsloo will mix with his heroes at this week’s captain’s practice, the last training session before the Springboks play the Wallabies on Saturday. He will also join the team before kickoff, where they will stand together and sing the national anthem.
The teenager is currently a Grade 8 pupil at Hoerskool Birchleigh in Kempton Park. He was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth and has been on medication for most of his life.
Prinsloo was forced to quit rugby due to his illness, and is no longer able to play any contact sports. Andre Pretorius is his favourite player, and is naturally a part of his two favourite teams, namely the Springboks and the Lions.
Chief Communications Officer of Vodacom, Dot Field explained that her company takes pleasure in helping brave children like Prinsloo.
“Vodacom is the most passionate supporter of South African supporters and it makes us proud to be in a position to make the dream of a young child such as Juan come true in this way,†Field said.
