A Bok victory that never looked in doubt. And another Australian flop in South Africa. Keo.co.za rates the victors.
6 -A good debut. Looked comfortable on the ball. Dropped one high ball, but generally a sound debut.
5 -Ordinary effort and predictably subbed by Breyton Paulse at halftime.
6 -Strong in the tackle, but did not get many opportunities on attack.
6 – Threatened at times, but not as dominant as he should have been given how South Africa controlled the match.
5 -A poor selection on the wing. He is a midfielder and did not have the outright pace to beat his man on the outside.
6 -A mixed bag, but the most positive aspect was that he continued to try things. The back division looked dangerous and he has matured his game. The challenge now is that he stays fit and shows this maturity on the end of year tour.
8 – His quick thinking in taking the tap and scoring the try showed an urgency that has been lacking in this team. The presence in the match 22 of Ruan Pienaar has seen Du Preez up his game. He was the best player on the field. Confrontational, physical but also clever. Fanastic strength to bounce Palu for his try.
6 – Hard working and gave the Bok back row momentum. Interesting selection choice for Jake White when it comes to the England challenge. Does he persist with Wannenburg or go back to a fit Joe van Niekerk?
6 -His attitude has done wonders for the attitude of the Bok pack, especially at the breakdown. He does give the forwards presence and if he stays injury free the Boks are going to need his character in England.
7 -He settled in superbly to a specific role in the Bok team and he has to be nurtured in that role. This kind of player always gives a team a chance. Strong, but also creative. And ‘WOW’ the first South African loose-forward since Skinstad who seems comfortable passing the ball.
7 - A giant in the lineout. He is the best in the business and he cops an unfair amount of criticism in this country for perceived weaknesses elsewhere. He’ll only be appreciated when he is not in the starting XV. He attacked the rucks with enthusiasm and was prepared to do the hard yards.
6 - He is solid and in Bakkies Botha’s absence he continues to do a holding job. Nothing more at this stage. Has given Jake comfort that he has a capable second rower.
7 - Another strong effort. His was another selection forced onto White by injury. Better late than never.
7 - Led the team well. And showed intent on the drive. He had a busy game and deserves the win and a holiday.
7 -He absolutely demolished Rodney Blake and it was more a case of Cinderella than Rodzilla for the Aussie tighthead. Also put in one monster hit on the hapless Clyde Rathbone.
7 -It was an insult to this player that he did not start and he embarrassed that selection with his performance. Fantastic in defence and outstanding in taking his try. Will he ever be given the recognition in this country? Doubtful when you see who gets selected ahead of him.
7 - Showed enterprise in the second half. They at least try to play some football and they had the necessary passion for one last hit out.
5 - They’ve got too many oldies in the team to win these type of matches and they don’t have the mongrel for a dog fight. They played to limit the damage and never took the Boks on. Another powder puff effort from an Australian team that plays in gold at home and in yellow away from home. That’s now one away win in 19!
