Lote Tuqiri is expected to return to rugby league after the 2007 World Cup.
This follows the news that Mat Rogers will join the Gold Coast Tigers in a two-year contract that begins in 2008.
Tuqiri, who, like Rogers, is contracted to the Australian Rugby Union until the end of next year, told Channel Nine news a return to league was a genuine option for him after that.
“I’m not going to say, ‘No, I wouldn’t like to play it again’,” Tuqiri said. “League is always going to be in my blood. It’s the first game I played. There will always be a passion there. So, probably, yes, I would like to play it again.”
Since his move to rugby union in 2002, Tuqiri has become one of the world’s most destructive wingers.
He is currently serving a ban for spear-tackling Richie McCaw, but will be back for the Wallabies’ Test against Wales in November.
