Pedrie Wannenburg is certain to miss the Vodacom Blue Bulls game against Griquas and the team could be further depleted.
Wannenburg limped off early against the Sharks with what has been revealed to be damaged medial knee ligaments. The initial prognosis was for a lengthy lay-off, but Bulls team doctor, Tommie Smook allayed those fears.
“Wannenburg will be out for a week or two, but we will monitor his progress,” Smook said.
Other casualties from the bruising Durban encounter include Derrick Hougaard (stiff groin), Heinie Adams (ankle) and JP Nel (foot). Their fitness will be assessed later today but the medical staff are confident of their participation in Kimberly.
In-form loose forward Pierre Spies is likely to be rested ahead of what will be a vital match against the Vodacom Cheetahs in a fortnight.
