Spies out, Hougaard benched for Bulls

The Vodacom Blue Bulls have made three changes to the side that trounced the Sharks in Durban.

The most notable of those is the exclusion of Pierre Spies. The 21-year-old, who Pote Human hoped would fill the void left by Pedrie Wannenburg at eighthman, has failed to shake a calf strain.

Human is also being cautious with Derick Hougaard, whose participation in training has been stifled by a stiff groin muscle. He will watch from the bench but the Bulls lose little in the equally prolific Morné Steyn.

In the pack, Derick Kuün will play at No 8, while Adriaan Fondse replaces Rossouw in the second row, to accommodate the Springbok’s shift to openside flank.
