Your weekend odds and former Springbok hooker and CEO of SA Rugby Legends John Allan has given us some betting tips to make this weekend all the more profitable.

This weekends action kicks off with the bottom two teams fighting for pride. The Pumas will be looking to register their first win of the Absa Currie Cup in their match against the Valke in Brakpan. Legendsbet bookies have the Valke -20.5 points favourites on handicap and R1.08 to win outright. You can get R9.00 on the Pumas to win outright. JA has an interesting view of this match. He believes that with the Pumas having a tough match next weekend against the Lions this is their last real opportunity to impress incoming coach, Chester Williams. While beating the Valke outright will be tough, JA suggests a small flutter on the Pumas with a 20.5 points start should start your weekend off on a winning note.

There are two big match ups this weekend which affect the top of the log.

The Cheetahs will be looking to take another step towards securing a home-semi with a win over the Sharks whose loss to the Bulls last week put their semi-final participation in doubt. The Legends bookies have the Cheetahs -7.5 points favourites on handicap and R1.45 outright, while the Sharks are R2.80 to win outright. While an outright victory against the Cheetahs will put the Sharks hopes for a home semi back on track and help them get over the psychological block they seem to have when playing the Cheetahs, this may be a bridge too far. Even JA, who tends to talk with his heart when the Sharks are concerned, plans to back the Sharks with 7.5 points start but his reluctant to commit to his beloved Sharks outright!

The Lions will be looking for a solid win over Vodacom Western Province to keep their slim semi-final chance alive, a loss here will end their campaign and go along way to helping Province in their quest to secure a home semi-final. The Lions are favourites to win outright at R1.75 while WP are R2.20 outright. The handicap is set at 2.5 points. If you have to have a bet in this match JA thinks backing WP with 2.5 points start is the way to go.

The Bulls will be looking to continue their impressive from against the Sharks from last weekend by putting Griquas to the sword. The Bulls are favourites on handicap at 14.5 points. Selecting which way to go here will be tricky. If the Bulls play as they did last week against the Sharks, then winning by 15 points or more will be easy. If however they play as they have the rest of the season expect a much closer encounter.
