Snyman sinks Agen

A second-half try by Bok reject Andre Snyman saw Perpignan beat Agen 13-6 in the French Top 14 competition.

Perpignan had lost their previous three matches and won just once at Agen in 11 matches.

Snyman’s try was the highlight of a poor match. David Marty did well to hold the ball up in a tackle, with Snyman timing his run superbly and breaking the defensive line for the score.

Another South African, Steven Meyer, added the conversion and then kicked a penalty to make it 13-3 after 30 minutes.

Agen’s three points had come early on from the boot of former Cats centre Conrad Stoltz, who slotted a drop goal.

Ex-Golden Lions prop, Pietman van Niekerk, was yellow-carded after 50 minutes which halted Agen’s momentum.

However, Jerome Miquel Рwho had taken over the kicking duties from the poor Fran̤ois Gelez Рlanded a penalty with a minute to go to give Agen a bonus point.
