Ronan O’Gara kicked a late penalty to kill off Leicester’s Tigers in European Cup action.
Champions Munster, having struggled in the Magners Celtic League this season, raised their game to lead Leicester 15-6 at halftime. But it took O’Gara’s boot to give the Irishmen a crucial away win when he kicked a 78th minute penalty to secure a 21-19 win.
Munster outscored Leicester two tries to one and lead 18-9 after 50 minutes, only for the hosts to strike with a converted try and an Andy Goode penalty on 72 minutes to take the lead.
O’Gara, however, had the last say.
In other Sunday action, Biarritz won 22-10 at home to Northampton Saints and London Wasps also won at home, beating Castres 19-13.
