Frogs lose Freddie

Frederic Michalak will miss the Tricolores’ two Test series against the All Blacks in November.

The flyhalf sprained knee ligaments in training for Toulouse’s opening European Cup game in September and has failed to recover in time for the much-anticipated clash between the Six Nations and Tri-Nations champions.

Centre Damien Traille, who scored two tries in Biarritz’s 50-7 European Cup win over Parma, stands in for Michalak. Traille wore the No 10 jersey against the Boks at Newlands in June and played a major role in his side’s victory.

The French play the All Blacks on 11 and 18 November, and Argentina on 25 November.
