Jake White will fly back to South Africa for a meeting with the Presidents Council before rejoining the Bok squad for the World XV game.
The meeting is set to take place in Cape Town on 29 November. White will then fly back to the UK on the 30th in time to prepare for the Boks’ match against the World XV on 3 December.
While Saru refused to say why White was required to spend 24 hours on a plane in the middle of a tour, there is little doubt that it has to do with the future of the Bok coach.
According to Rapport newspaper last Sunday, White is set to be fired at the end of the tour and replaced by Heyneke Meyer.
Saru president Regan Hoskins denied the report, although White’s meeting with the Presidents Council suggests it was accurate.
