It is still uncertain for which team Cobus Visagie will run out when the Springboks play a World XV on 3 December.
It was reported that Visagie had declined the invitation issued by coach Jake White, but Springbok media manager Vusi Kama hinted that the former Stormers prop may yet play for the Boks in the final game of the tour. Kama said that there would be further negotiations after the captain’s run on Friday.
This follows a statement given by a World XV spokesman confirming that Visagie would be opposing the Boks in Leicester next week.
“I personally spoke to Cobus [Visagie] and he assured me he will be playing for the World XV,” the spokesman told planetrugby’s Jan de Koning.
“He is a man of his word and full marks to him for honouring the promise he made to the World XV.
“I’m sure he will show us what he is capable of next week and in future get a chance to play for his country again.
At an earlier press conference held in London, the burly Saracens tighthead was named as a part of the South African squad for the World XV fixture.
Gerrie Britz and Wikus van Heerden have already joined the South African touring party, while Kabamba Floors looks certain to resume his role as the Sevens captain ahead of the tournament in Dubai.
Other call ups include Selbourne Boome, De Wet Barry and Jongi Nokwe.
