Carter misses out on World XV

Dan Carter failed to make the London Sunday Times World XV – and neither did any Springbok on tour or English player.

France’s players were other absentees, while no Aussie was considered good enough.

The newspaper’s rugby correspondent Stephen Jones made his choices based on the last month’s Autumn internationals and while he wrote a case could be made for picking all 15 New Zealanders, many of their class players were in cruise control on their four-test romp through France, Wales and England.

Jones wrote that Carter, in particular, took an armchair ride in a magnificent team and that Ronan O’Gara was the more inspirational in manufacturing Ireland’s wins against South Africa and Australia.
