Currie Cup stays hot

The eight-team Absa Currie Cup format has been retained until the 2011 season.

This follows fears that the Presidents Council would push for a 14-team watered-down competition.

However, sanity has prevailed and we will once again have an eight-team Premier Division and six-team First Division.

First Division champions Boland will play the Pumas, who finished last in the Premier Division, in a two-match home and away play-off, for the right to play in the 2007 Premier Division.
