Keo.co.za brings you highlights of the club games played over the weekend.
Down in the Cape, Maties stayed at the top of the Super League A with a 57-20 drubbing of Villager. Western Province discard Sarel Potgieter scored a hat-trick as did team-mate Louw Schabort. Stellenbosch racked up nine tries in all to go two points clear of the second-placed Hamiltons, who have incidentally played two more games.
Hamiltons disposed of Victorians 30-12, while UCT scored a solid 24-3 victory over Durban-Bellville. SK Walmers held out against a brave Collegians outfit to win 23-15. Up the road in Wellington, Roses United withstood a late surge from Ceres to emerge 18-11 winners, while league leaders Rawsonville were thumped 49-22 by second-placed Wesbank.
In Gauteng, Ebenhaeser Simba helped the University of Johannesburg to a resounding 76-12 win over Secunda with an impressive three tries. Fullback Clinton de Klerk also provided a weighty contribution, notching up 24 points in all.
Pukke were just as dominant in a 52-14 hammering of the Wild Cats in Potchefstroom, even though they fielded an understrength side. The national club champs scored eight tries in all with Joe Seerane picking up a brace.
